It's hard, action packed, tactical and utterly amazing to look at. It wouldn't be at all surprising if Crysis remains the best looking video game well into 2008 and maybe even beyond.

Unfortunately, the enemy AI still consists of two actions: firing at you with godlike precision, or standing around in the open waiting to get shot.

Civilization IV: Beyond the Sword

Though not all of the additions in the expansion are perfect, there's plenty of new stuff in Beyond the Sword for Civ fans to play with, and plenty of reasons to dive back into the game and start taking "just one more turn" all over again.

While not quite realizing its full potential, I found Call of Juarez to be an enjoyable and refreshing shooter experience. The way that the story is set up was fun and new.

Tomb Raider: Anniversary

The controls are light-years better than the original but still aren't solid like Prince of Persia's; the graphics are beyond anything the original could muster and kick the crud out of the PS2 version.

Halo 2

As you might suspect, Halo 2 has a decent storyline for singleplayer, but it is multiplayer where the game really shines. Few games are this well balanced and this well executed.
